About ITDA

The Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Paderu plans and delivers tribal welfare across the hill mandals of the Eastern Ghats: education, health, livelihoods, coffee, roads and drinking water. It is headed by a Project Officer from the Indian Administrative Service. Since December 2025 all 11 mandals of Alluri Sitharama Raju district fall under ITDA Paderu.

History

Integrated Tribal Development Agencies were set up across India in the mid-1970s under the Tribal Sub-Plan, so that one agency in each tribal area would plan and coordinate all development work for Scheduled Tribes. ITDA Paderu is one of the ITDAs of Andhra Pradesh and covers the Paderu agency area in the Eastern Ghats.

The agency brings together the work of many departments (tribal welfare, education, health, agriculture, horticulture, forests, engineering and the Girijan Cooperative Corporation) so that schemes reach remote habitations in a planned way.
